Squarespace Forms vs. Wufoo vs. Typeform vs. Google Forms
I’m launching a platform called Sunday Founders, it’s a tech founder matching site with a gender lens. My co-founder Gretchen Scott and I, were needing to do some simple information gathering about our users through a form and for whatever reason something that seemed really easy turned into 4 weeks of road blocks and research! I wanted to share my discoveries with others in case
We’re currently hosting the site on Squarespace but we really valued having the image upload feature and logic jump so that immediately eliminated using Squarespace.
I really love Typeform and it covered all of the bases we were needing but at $500 AUD it was a hard pill to swallow for just testing a basic MVP. I actually had my credit card out ready to pay $350/yr for it and then the exchange rate changed it to $500 and I just couldn’t do it. Even though Wufoo is significantly cheaper than Typeform, the design is so terrible it's really hard to consider Wufoo a serious option.
So the search continued. I have created a lot of surveys with Google Forms but I didn’t realize that it allowed an upload file field. However, upon further research I discovered you sacrifice being able to embed it on your site. Google Forms is also not as visually appealing as Squarespace and Typeform and but wasn’t as bad as Wufoo.
We ultimately ended up going with Google Forms because of the functionality was there that we needed (logic jumps and file upload) and price point was right (free) but if money wasn’t an issue, hands down I would go with Typeform.
