Pitch emails aren’t just for writers.
Whether you want to advertise your creative business or promote a killer campaign idea, you’ll need to send some pitch emails. And why not a badass pitch email, at that.
Before you email potential collaborators, sponsors, media, etc, check out our 4 pitching tricks of the trade that’ll help you get some sweet, sweet replies (oh sure! you’re welcome - we love you too;)
Always remember: pitch emails are way less about you and way more about them.
Be specific about why this relationship is beneficial for them.
Be respectful of their inbox and time, but don’t undersell your value.
At the end of the day, you have something valuable to offer them - you’re not wasting their time. For example:
DON’T write: “I know you’re really busy and probably get a lot of emails, but I thought I’d tell you about…”DO write: “I admire your company’s achievements and am excited my [product/service name] could provide value because of xyz…”
Be clear on your “ask.”
So, what do you want from them? Make sure they know!
Get to the point.
Keep their attention by being concise.
Now, let the pitching begin!
